CAUTION: ATTEMPTING A 100% RAW FOOD DIET THIS SEASON CAN HURT YOU

The air has a nip to it, and the leaves up north are changing colors rapidly – Fall is here and Winter is soon approaching.

It is no secret to those who know me that I am always encouraging people to make healthier dietary changes by incorporating more raw whole plant foods into their diet. More is better in my opinion. I’m a walking example of the numerous benefits we all can enjoy eating a high raw food diet ….. more energy, looking and feeling better, weight loss, and improved health. So why not go 100% raw … now? (The sooner the better right?) Why am I sending out this word of caution?

Because I’m interested in seeing people happy, and enjoying success in their life. Because stress IS harmful to the body.

We’re experiencing colder weather and the most challenging (dietary) holidays are descending upon us. Except for the most ardent, strong-willed, determined person most of you will face an enormous challenge making big changes in your diet this time of year, especially if you attempt practicing 100% raw. In fact most people this time of year are severely challenged just to keep their current “healthy diet” status.

When the weather turns cold our first inclination is to have HOT, cooked (comfort) foods. Many people find it difficult to remain raw when the temperature drops. Add to the weather factor the numerous parties, gatherings, and holiday events coming up and even the most ardent raw foodist is challenged to stay raw (yes, it IS easier the longer you’ve been raw).

Take the stress and the challenge out of improving your diet (yes even going 100% raw) by allowing yourself the time and right conditions to ensure your success. Going 100% raw AFTER the holidays is easier than BEFORE the holidays. Why not make it your New Year’s resolution to start 100% raw then and use the upcoming months to transition (taking steps) to that point – it will be less stressful and more enjoyable. Some of those transitional steps could be: giving up caffeine in lieu of the wine, or replace chocolate goodies with carob treats instead, or eating only natural <a href="http:// sugars in place of processed sugars for example.

Keep your commitments simple and practical …. most of all DO-ABLE! You’ll improve your raw status through the holidays without the fear of ‘failure.’

When the NEW YEAR arrives you’ll be better positioned and ready go 100% raw, or at least high raw.

This season enjoy the weather, enjoy the holidays, being with friends, family and co-workers, and most importantly BE HAPPY. Life is more than your diet, but keep in mind your diet will have an effect on your life. It is what you do consistently that matters, not what you do occasionally. Keep things Credit union location Washington Seattle Cascade Federal Credit Union simple – enjoy whole fresh raw fruits and vegetables with abandon.

Bon Appetite’

This morning I jumped out of bed, only to jump back in again when I realized just how chilly it was! Burrrrr! How quickly the temperatures start to drop in October! A glimpse out the window only added to my feeling of ‘being cold’ as a cluster of dark clouds dotted the grey sky. There was no getting around it though, I had to get up. I was going to conquer the world today, or at least, my part of the world.

If you’re like me, you wake and bless the Almighty for being alive and feeling alive with new energy pushing you out of bed. If you’ve been eating the raw food diet, you discover you don’t require as much sleep as you did when you were eating the standard American diet. With fewer toxins to clean from your system and with a more efficient system your body enjoys a higher level of energy and well-being!

I’m fully awake now, but still feeling the chill of the fall season and crave a warm breakfast! Most people think that when you eat raw that you can’t eat anything heated, they’re quite surprised to discover they’re wrong. A food is still considered ‘raw’ if it isn’t heated above 118 degrees Fahrenheit; all the nutrients and enzymes remain intact. Eating heated foods is highly desirable when the temperatures drop!

I’m craving warm apples, apple cobbler, apple pie, caramel apples, apples….apples…..apples! Apples are in season now and everywhere I look their bright colors beckon and memories of childhood favorite apple dishes surface. Did you know that there are over 7500 varieties of cooking and dessert apples? They range from very tart (crab apple) to deliciously sweet! You can eat <a href="http:// them out of hand, prepared in a raw dish or a heated one. If you’re like me, you want lots of options particularly when you’re transitioning to a high raw food diet. As a Recipe Club Member I share my favorite apple recipes with you – recipes I know will satisfy and delight you for both how tasty they are and with how easy they are to prepare.

Learn more about this wonderful healthy fruit on my website: www.sensationalrawfooddiet.com.

The sun is peaking through the clouds now, and I’m off to get breakfast. I wonder, “Why would anyone wish to eat a boxed cereal Credit union location Oregon Salem Ibew/Sj Cascade Federal Credit Union with milk when there are warm sweet apples beaconing?”

Have a terrific day!

Diabetes, a condition where the body can not make use of insulin correctly, is one of the fastest growing diseases in America……..and it is deadly. Diabetes is the number one cause of kidney failure.

The first time I entered a kidney dialysis unit with my husband, an ‘uncontrolled’ diabetic, I was shocked by the number of people in the waiting room and in the numerous beds and chairs tightly packed in the unit, each one hooked up to a dialysis machine. There were elderly people, children, teens, and people of almost every ethnicity I knew. I was appalled at the ‘sign of the times,’ and I shook my head in disbelief, aghast that the “the numbers are increasing!”

Statistics indicate the number of people (between the ages of 30 and 39) with diabetes is increasing at an alarming rate, as high as 70% over the recent 10 years! Currently over 20 million people in the United Sates alone have diabetes. Are you diabetic? Have you been checked? Many diabetics don’t even know they’re diabetic – yet. Diabetes often has no symptoms or warning signs, but the symptoms include: feeling tired, feeling irritable, urinating more than normal, being very thirsty and/or hungry, unexplained weight loss, and/or blurred vision.

My husband like so many other diabetic patients believed a ‘miracle drug’ or ‘miracle procedure’ would be developed that would cure his condition; he paid little attention to dietary guidelines or the need for physical exercise. Then neuropathy (a condition where the blood no longer circulates to the extremities or other organs, including the stomach) set in and his pain level in his hands and feet worsened with each passing year. Before his passing, he often held his hands up away from his body to protect them from being hit, any pressure on his fingers was excruciating. He could no longer eat most foods because his stomach no longer functioned properly and the muscles to move his food lay dormant – the toxins were killing Credit union location Oklahoma Oklahoma City Municipal Employees Credit Union Of Oklahoma City him. His kidneys didn’t work. His will to live ended when he no longer could pet his dogs, hold his wife, or hold cards in his favorite game of Sequence. His vision was blurred to the point that reading was impossible and watching TV was his only outlet.

You ask me, ”How did diabetes change MY life?” I took care of this man I love and watched his decline and suffering. I urged him to try the aggressive raw food diet as explained in the SIMPLY RAW: REVERSING DIABETES IN 30 DAYS video, a ‘proven’ method of reversing diabetes. Though he started eating more raw food his love for eating animal products, fast food, and all time favorite junk/processed food continued. He doggedly believed a ‘cure’ would come soon. It didn’t, not the cure he was looking for. It is not in a pill, it is not a surgical procedure.

The miracle my husband was looking for was right there in front of him, it was in the raw foods. The healing power of whole fresh foods in their natural state has been proven to cure or control most diseases, and Dr. Gabrielle has proven it can reverse diabetes. For those people seeking to be free of this disease, this is the ONLY proven program that works. Yes it requires discipline, yes it requires changes……………yes change is uncomfortable………….but not nearly as uncomfortable as neuropathy I assure you.

No, I didn’t suffer from diabetes, I suffered through it………….through my husband. He’s now dead and yes, my life is changed. After 32 years of sharing my life with this man, a part of me died that day too. I think of all the families of <a href="http:// all those people in the dialysis unit and shed tears for every one of them, and those who have yet to be diagnosed.

I urge you to view the video, no other program has proven to reverse diabetes. Dr. Gabriel has proven the raw food diet program can.

If you keep doing the same thing but expect different results, you’re fooling yourself. There are no ‘miracle’ breakthroughs in the medical community. You have to take the initiative - the raw food diet works. Please don’t become a statistic.

I get asked this question all the time, particularly by people who consume animal products in the way of meat and dairy, as well as vegetarians who consume large quantities of cooked beans and rice. There is an unfounded belief that if you eat nothing but raw fruits and vegetables that somehow you will be missing vital nutrients………….or worse, deprive yourself of a wide array of favorite cooked dishes. These same people are typically taking numerous prescription drugs or supplements, and are suffering from at least one of the more typical diseases (e.g. obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, fibromyalgia, heart disease, etc).

The raw food diet <a href="http:// is not an ‘all or nothing’ diet. Without question, the more raw fruits and vegetables you eat the healthier you’ll be as all plant based foods are extremely high in easily assimilated nutrients that feed the body at a cellular level. “Fruits provide the highest percentage of vitamins per calories consumed with vegetables coming in second. Vegetables provide the highest percentage of minerals per calories consumed with fruits coming in second.”* With a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds to choose from in the raw diet, nutrients such as bone-strengthening calcium, protein, iron, vitamins C, D, E, and B’s to name a few can easily be obtained. “Almost every vegetable that can be eaten whole, fresh and raw contains all eight of the essential amino acids and therefore provides us with complete, usable, easily assimilated protein.”* Processing nutrients from whole Credit union location Texas Houston Ada Employees Credit Union foods to sell as supplements is the most costly way to improve your nutritional balance. Most nutrients are known to interact symbiotically with at least eight other nutrients, WHOLE fruits and vegetables provide a superior complete source of vitamins and minerals.

Fiber found in plant-based foods is lacking in a meat-based diet; fiber is important to keep the digestive tract clean of waste products which can lead to disease.

Plant-based foods are alkaline in nature, as apposed to animal products and grains which are acid forming. A highly acidic bloodstream pulls minerals from our muscles and bones to neutralize the acid content.

Most animal products have been treated with antibiotics, steroids, coloring agents, flavor enhancers, growth hormones and other chemicals that humans ingest when eating these foods. How healthy is it to eat THAT? Whole fresh organic fruits and vegetables are free of any of these treatments.

Cooking foods changes its atomic structure, creating a toxic food where up to 80% of the nutrients can lost in the cooking process. Cooking foods at high heat (such as steaming, boiling, and grilling) creates carcinogens that can lead to cancer and auto-immune diseases. The body’s first line of defense is the white blood cells; research has proven the white blood cell count increases almost 300% after consuming cooked foods. The body perceives cooked food as toxic and rushes to its defense. Cooking is a process of destruction, not of ‘construction’. If you placed your hand on a hot burner, within seconds the skin would reflect how destructive ‘cooking’ is. It matters little if it is ‘slightly’ cooked or blackened………..the result is the same.

Switching to a raw food diet, high in low calorie nutrient dense fruits and vegetables increases your energy and unwanted pounds melt away as you are no longer consuming food that is made up of processed sugar, processed flours and grains, and cooked foods – all foods that put on the weight and drain you of energy. With there being over 150 varieties of available fruits and vegetables to choose from, meals are seldom boring. Couple this with learning HOW to prepare these fruits and vegetables into great tasting familiar recipes (e.g. pasta, desserts, ice cream etc) you’ll soon be experiencing a higher level of health and energy, beyond anything you dreamed possible.

It is interesting that people think little about the quantities and health quality of prescription drugs, supplements, or processed foods they consume and yet shy away from eating whole fresh fruits and vegetables as being ‘radical’ and ‘difficult’. It couldn’t be any simpler. Sometimes we’re looking so hard for the dietary cure-all, we don’t see the bright colored jewels in our produce markets beckoning us to ‘just try me!’

Is the raw food diet a healthy diet? It is all that and then some! It is a diet/lifestyle that fits everyone, whether you’re consuming 20% more fruits and vegetables or 100% more, with every bite you’re improving your health. Who can argue the benefits of THAT!

Bon A Petite’

No!? Infortunately, I’m the ‘extraordinary’ exception and not the rule.

“If you want average results, do what average people do. But if you want extraordinary results…”

I eat a raw food diet and I WANT to workout, I FEEL GREAT! I have ENERGY to burn! Want to learn how to get most from your workout – spending less time in the gym and getting healthier and fitter more efficiently? Credit union location Illinois Chicago Selfreliance Ukrainian American Federal Credit Union Check out the fitness section of my website……….

http://www.sensationalrawfooddiet.com/exercise.html

The raw food diet is your ticket – not only will you FEEL more ENERGY but you’ll maximize the benefits of whatever exercise program you embark on. It’s all in the FUEL we put in our bodies, and the QUALITY of that fuel.

Athletes are always concerned about Protein, and getting enough of it. Plant based sources of protein are easier for the body to assimilate and less taxing on the liver and kidneys. Eating high amounts of animal protein is not only taxing to the organs, but is associated with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease. Why protein isolate – an animal food that is highly processed – is highly acid-forming, as is cooked animal foods. Eating too many acid-forming foods promote inflammation, reduce immune function, and cause calcium to be pulled from the bones resulting in lower bone density.

Plant based proteins are present in all fresh fruits and vegetables. 30% of the calories in spinach come from protein, almost 50% from romaine lettuce. The best sources of protein are leafy greens, liquid blue-green algae’s, nuts and seeds, sea vegetables and sprouted foods. A description of some of these protein sources along with additional plant-based food supplements can be found on my website: www.sensationalrawfooddiet

Athletes who experiment with plant-based diets consistently report a substantial increase in energy and a dramatic decrease in recovery time. The advantage of a decreased recovery time is that you can increase the number of your workouts if you choose. You’ll see quicker and better results!

I hope you found this information helpful. <a href="http:// There are more diet and fitness tips, suggestions, articles and information on my website along with some excellent recipes I share in my Recipe Membership Program that will maximize your workouts!

Eating a raw food diet is far from boring, and you’ll see the benefits as your body becomes fitter, stronger, more flexible, and agile; your workouts more effective. More bodybuilders, dancers, runners, triathletes, and professional athletes are discovering the advantage of the raw food diet. Join us. You don’t have to be an Athlete to reap the benefits!

Dairy is one of the most mucus forming food we can consume – mucus is the body’s way to protect itself from unwanted toxins.

Cow’s milk is meant to grow a 2.5 ton calf! One of the elements in cow’s milk is casein, a major ingredient in one of the strongest wood glues on the market! ………..and THIS is meant to make us ‘healthy’?!

The surface of the digestive tract that is designed to absorb the nutrients from the food we eat becomes covered with a mucoid plaque (film) that protects our blood from toxins that would make us severely sick if absorbed. Our body tries to rid itself of these toxins through whatever outlet it can. It uses Credit union location Nevada Las Vegas Nevada Federal Credit Union the nose (allergies and sneezing), the lungs (asthma and other bronchial conditions), and the skin (rashes, outbreaks, soreness) as outlets for these toxins.

Unfortunately this same film doesn’t allow us to absorb any nutrients. Over the years the mucoid plaque gets thicker and harder and we become under-nourished. Do you ever question why you feel more tired as you age, and why the need for more vitamin/mineral supplementation escalates?

By eliminating dairy, numerous health conditions (e.g. asthma, allergies, rashes etc.) clear up quickly and completely.

If we stay on a raw food diet this plaque can dissolve completely and our assimilation of nutrients, minerals and amino acids increases substantially!

Some people do not want to eliminate dairy all together and for those people who fall in this category, exchanging cow’s dairy for raw goat dairy is a healthier choice as goat’s milk is easier to digest and doesn’t have the same make-up as cows dairy – the make-up that makes us toxic. Unpasteurized, raw goat cheddar style cheese is an excellent exchange for normal cow’s <a href="http:// milk cheddar cheese……and a HEALTHIER choice.

This morning I joined a friend of mine on the tennis court for a few hours of tennis and I was looking <a href="http:// forward to a lively, competitive, hard game of tennis. I felt energized, limber, strong, quick in action, and quick thinking. I felt GREAT!

Instead, when I met my opponent she complained to me how tired she felt, and had been feeling for some time. She knew our game would be lopsided and she would lose, as I knew then with certainty I would easily win. I was disappointed there would be no competitive match.

If you often feel tired regardless of how much sleep you get, try to eat right, and how much you work out it's a safe bet you are overly acidic - most people are. When you are, you’ll never feel as good as you like. When acidic waste accumulates, it is destructive to your organs causing them to malfunction and break down.

Most foods on the western diet are acid-producing. The raw food diet however is high in alkaline-producing foods. How simple it is to correct this health damaging problem. By consuming more raw fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds you’ll quickly turn your health around. To help identify what foods are both hindering and helping you feel your best see my ALKALINE CHART which you can download from my website http://www.sensationalrawfooddiet.com/alkaline-chart.html

You’ll have bright eyes and clear skin. You’ll look better. You’ll improve your athletic performance. Your entire body will function more efficiently. Dr Robert O. Young, MS, D.Sc., Ph.D., Author of “The pH Miracle”

To be top in your game, feeling your best, and enjoying life…….for better health, enjoy all the delicious ways you can prepare raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds and become more ALKALINE.

DISPELLING THE MYTH – THE RAW FOOD DIET IS EXPENSIVE

I was in the checkout line at the local grocery store putting the last of my produce on the conveyer belt (already piled high with my array of fruits and vegetables) when I heard the cashier tell the customer before me what her total bill came to. It was an incredulous amount! I glanced at the food being bagged. In only a few sacks the cashier had bagged several large portions of meat, numerous dairy items, pop, beer, and a wide array of snacks. Assuming this woman was from a typical family, the groceries she purchased couldn’t last her more than a week, maybe less. I also noted several large bottles of supplements and medicine.

The customer left and as the cashier started ringing my groceries up I waited to finish emptying my basket until there was room on the belt. Finished, I wheeled my cart to the end of the counter where I helped a store employee fill up the numerous cloth bags I had brought for that purpose. The amount of produce I purchase requires durable, strong bags – lots of them. I eat a LOT of fruits and vegetables on my raw food diet!

The cashier looked at all my bags and said, “Wow, all that for so small a bill!” My total bill was less than half that of the customer ahead of me! My cart was full!

Eating the raw food diet is extremely economical – I’m not buying meat, dairy, manufactured foods (did I also mention the packaging, advertising, marketing, and processing costs rolled in to these foods?)

There is no need to purchase supplements as the raw food diet is an extremely healthy and nutrient-rich one that provides a vast array of vitamins, minerals, phtyo-nutrients, antioxidants, enzymes, and natural fiber.

While 1) eating healthy foods that support the body, improve overall health, and provide higher levels of immune, kidney, liver, and digestive function; and 2) NOT eating those foods associated with most major diseases – meat, dairy, processed foods, etc the need for medication is eliminated. What does it say about our current standard American diet when <a href="http:// bottles of supplements and medicine are as typical to your grocery list as is the food you eat? Associated doctor visit, health insurance, and lost work costs are also eliminated. That means more money in your pocket!

There’s little ‘overhead’ to market fresh whole foods………..they “sell” themselves. They’re fragrant, beautiful in a rainbow of bright, vibrant colors and hues, and they come in all kinds of sizes, weights and interesting textures – their variety is endless. Fresh fruits and vegetables also come in their own environmentally friendly “packages” in the way of skins and shells. While at the same time you’re saving money you’re also leaving your ‘green imprint’ on this earth. It doesn’t get much better than that.

When people tell me that it is expensive to do the raw food diet, the expense is usually incurred in trying to initially set up a raw food kitchen – new equipment, new whole natural ingredients and, of course, trying to do everything at one time – including preparing a multitude of dishes.

Unlike the traditional meal, a raw food meal is simple and uncomplicated. The traditional dinner for example could be bread/butter, soup (maybe), salad (maybe as a side dish), meat, starch, cooked veggie and likely a dessert. Is it any wonder our digestive tracts are all amuck?! A raw food meal is simple. It may consist of one dish – lots of it, or maybe two. Because of its simplicity (and digestive ease), no additional money is spent in preparing all those other dishes – it is easier and cheaper to Credit union location Louisiana Rayville Richland Parish Schools Federal Credit Union prepare a raw meal, and it is healthier!

We’re all feeling the pinch of today’s economy and tightening our budgets. Eating a wide variety of fruits and veggies, and a LOT of it, will help take the burden off your body and out of your wallet.

DISPELLING THE MYTH THAT RAW FOOD IS COMPLICATED

My life is all about simplicity – my favorite motto is ‘keep it simple.’ When somebody tells me that the raw food diet is difficult, something I’ve been eating for over ten years, it makes no sense Credit union location California San Dimas Christian Community Credit Union to me. It surely wouldn’t fit into MY lifestyle if it were!

I recently sat down to give this comment some serious in-depth consideration. How could something so simple be complex?

I guess this way of eating can be difficult if:

      you were

- trying to prepare a wide “variety” of recipes

- preparing ‘gourmet’ type recipes

- using elaborate preparation methods

- lacked the tools to efficiently prepare the food

- using hard-to-find ingredients

- pushing yourself to 100% raw too quickly

This way of eating could be difficult for the person who is used to purchasing large quantities of food and storing them indefinitely in the pantry – but gosh, food left on the shelf gets old! I prefer to have food that is fresh, aromatic, and ‘bursting with flavor’ in my kitchen, on my table, and in my body! If what I eat is not fresh, is preserved with chemicals, is not nutrient rich, and is not free of harmful substances, what’s the point?

I guess it could be difficult if you’ve been ‘conditioned’ to run out to one of the fast-food franchises for ‘fast food’ when hungry. If you haven’t tried something as simple as grabbing a handful of berries, a large apple or several bananas to ‘fill that void’ then I highly recommend you do so. It’s not only faster, cheaper, lower in calories, higher in nutrients, but you can eat lots of it and still not come close to the calories found in fast food meals. I like to eat, and though I eat a lot of food I remain slim, healthy, and full of energy!

HOW EASY IS IT?

Most raw food recipes are prepared under 15 minutes (5 minutes if you’re a veteran of eating this kind of food), and use 5 ingredients or less. With the use of just a couple of handy appliances such as a high-speed blender (the Vita-Mix for example) or a food processor your meals are typically cut, combined, mixed, and finished in one easy process. If there’s a better example of ‘easy’ I haven’t discovered it yet.

Cleanup is even easier. With just a drop of liquid dish soap and a quick rinse under hot water your equipment is cleaned and ready to be used again! How easy is that? No baked on food residue, no <a href=”http:// oily/greasy mess to dispose of, and no cooked-on hard gunk to scrape off your dishes or pots/pans, no burned meals!

Keeping raw food preparation uncomplicated makes this diet simple to do. Save the ‘gourmet’ dishes for special occasions or when you have the time, inclination, and need to make them. In the meantime, save yourself:

- Time

- Money

- Stress

- Extra Work

- Confusion

- Waste

by keeping things “SIMPLE.”

Let YOUR new motto be: “KEEP…..IT….. SIMPLE”
